US Embassy funds reconstruction of gymnasium in north Moldova district

Chisinau, 10 November /MOLDPRES/ - The works on the repair of the food block and ventilation system at the A. Mateevici gymnasium from the Elizavetovca village, Balti municipality, have been completed. The project was carried out by the U.S. Embassy in Moldova, with the financial support of the U.S. armed forces Command in Europe.
The fitting of the Balti-based gymnasium was personally coordinated by U.S. Ambassador to Moldova William Moser. "We hope that the new comfortable conditions created in this institution with the American people's money will help children achieve excellent results here at school," said the diplomat.
According to the deputy mayor of Balti, Alexandru Usatii, the reconstruction of the gymnasium costed almost one million lei. "Major repairs were carried out in the food block, new cooking appliances with a modern ventilation system were set, and sanitary blocks were renovated," said the deputy mayor, according to the esp.md. portal.
For his part, the headmaster of the gymnasium, Valeriu Marcautan, noted that the project was not the first one to be conducted jointly with the U.S. diplomatic mission in Moldova and expressed confidence that this cooperation would continue.
