Moldovan government approves new regulations on legal expertise

Chisinau, 21 December /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today approved three regulations on the carrying out of legal expertise in Moldova, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

Thus, the cabinet approved a regulation on the work of the National Centre of Legal Expertises, which sets the mission, structure and powers of the Centre. Under the regulation, the centre will work in the subordination of the Justice Ministry, with legal status of agency and will have a ceiling of personnel of 76 units. Among the powers of the centre’s employees, there are carrying out legal and extra-legal expertises, organization of workshops, scientific conferences, courses of continuous training for legal experts, as well as implementation of the scientific provisions in the legal expertise sector. Also, the centre will have territorial subdivisions in the Balti municipality and Cahul city and its work will be financed from the state budget.   

Also today, the cabinet approved a regulation on the work of the commission for qualification and assessment of legal experts and a regulation on conditions for holding and promoting the examination on qualification of legal experts and the model of licence for carrying out the profession of legal expert. The implementation of the new provisions is aimed at setting up the commission for qualification and assessment of legal experts, made up of nine members. The commission will be the only organizational structure with power of examining persons applying for the capacity of legal expert or conferring qualification degrees.
