Moldovan official journal roundup for 23 December

Chisinau, 22 December /MOLDPRES/- The Supreme Security Council (CSS) will have a new composition, according to legislative amendments, which will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova (Monitorul Oficial) on 23 December.

Under the document, CSS is made up of parliament speaker, prime minister, head of the commission on national security, defence and public order, defence minister, interior minister, Intelligence Service director, prosecutor general and governor of the National Bank of Moldova.

As secretary of the CSS can be appointed a Moldovan citizen with higher education, no criminal record, with an impeccable reputation, having at least five-year- work experience at the state security bodies, armed forces, internal affairs bodies and who was not a member of any party, nor political activities in the last 10 years. At the same time, CSS head is the president.

Previously, the numerical and nominal composition, duties and work schedule of CSS were approved by the president.

The CSS is an advisory body, which analyzes the work of ministries and other central administrative authorities in ensuring national security and submits recommendations to the president on foreign and domestic policy of the state.
