Chisinau, 22 December /MOLDPRES/ - The ruling on participation of national defence system forces, with weaponry, ammunitions, hardware and equipment, in international operations will be adopted under parliament decision, at a proposal by the government, according to legislative amendments published in the 23 December issue of Moldova’s Official Journal.

Earlier, the decision on participation of contingents of national defence system forces in international operations was adopted under parliament decision, at a proposal by Moldova’s president.

Under the new amendments, the withdrawal of contingents of the national defence system forces from international operations is decided by the parliament, if the international political and military situation undergoes changes triggered by the non-observance of the provisions of the agreement on the status of international peacekeeping forces, as well as of the stipulations of the UN Charter or in case the concerned withdrawal is justified by the country’s national interests. This decision has been earlier taken by the Moldovan president, with subsequent informing of the parliament.

At the same time, the changes see that the financial means reimbursed by international organizations or states for Moldova’s participation in international missions or operations are transferred to the budgets of the authorities who bore the participation expenses.
