Moldova to continue implementing Association Agreement with EU with double efforts

Chisinau, 10 February /MOLDPRES/- Despite the criticism voiced by the opposition and President as regards the Association Agreement with EU, Moldova will continue implementation with doubled efforts of the provisions of the document, Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu said at a meeting with Speaker of the Lower House of the Irish Parliament Sean O Fearghail. The meeting took place during the working visit by the speaker to Ireland, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

Candu called for political support to promote topics related to Moldova in the EU and Council of Europe structures.

Sean O Fearghail said that it was important to hear the development of situation in Moldova from the first source. In the context, the official announced that a parliamentary friendship group with Moldovan parliament was currently set up in the Irish Parliament.

The officials approached the opportunity to exchange experience in terms of settling disputes from the territory of each side.

The speaker announced he opted for opening a diplomatic representation in Dublin for development of bilateral relations and consular assistance for diaspora. For his part, Sean O Fearghail said Moldovans were emigrants respected and reputable.

The official accepted to visit Moldova by late 2017, following an invitation of the speaker.
