Moldovan committee on monitoring cases of increased social interest considers evolution of embezzled money's recovery

Chisinau, 10 February /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip summoned the standing committee on monitoring cases of increased social interest to its first meeting this year, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

The participants in the meeting discussed the stages and process of recovery of assets, sale of deposits, reimbursement of the emergency loan, difficulties faced.    

At the same time, the leaders of the law-enforcement bodies in charge of investigations concerning the bank fraud, as well as of the National Bank of Moldova (BNM) informed about the actions undertaken, cooperation with other institutions of Moldova and from abroad, in order to investigate and recover the embezzled financial means.   

The prime minister appreciated the collaboration between state institutions, aimed at achieving the goals dealing with the as soon as possible recovery of the embezzled money, as well as at calling to account the persons guilty of committing this offence with high impact.  

“People’s expectations are high, and in this respect, I ask you to further take concerted measures and make maximum of efforts to mobilize all decision-takers, in order to speed up processes regarding the recovery and investigation of the bank fraud,” the PM noted.   

The standing committee on monitoring cases of increased social interest was set up at an initiative by Prime Minister Pavel Filip and represents a platform of consultative discussion, the task of which is to ensure cooperation between state’s institutions, in order to efficiently and operatively manage cases of increased social interest.
