Chisinau, 16 February /MOLDPRES/- Invalids and families of those killed in the armed conflict on the Dniestre river will get one-off assistance on commemorating 25th anniversary of combat actions for the defense of the territorial integrity and independence of Moldova, according to a government decision, due to be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 17 February.

In this context, more actions will be organized throughout the country. Under the document, on 2 March 2017, Remembrance Parade will be carried out in the capital, which will end with a rally of remembrance and laying flowers at the monument “Grieving Mother” of the Eternity memorial compound.

Also, memorial plaques will be installed in several settlements and streets will be renamed in memory of fallen heroes. Participants in the armed conflict will be decorated with state awards, including post-mortem.

According to the Defence Ministry, over 30,000 people participated in the armed conflict on the Dniestre river in 1991-1992, of whom 300 soldiers and civilians died and 3,500 were injured.
