Moldovan foreign ministry organises meeting with civil society representatives on European integration agenda

Chisinau, 17 February /MOLDPRES/- A meeting with representatives of civil society was held today at the Foreign and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE), dedicated to Moldova’s European integration agenda, the MAEIE’s information and media relations service has reported.

The event, led by Deputy Minister Daniela Morari, included talks on progress report on National Action Plan for the implementation of the EU-Moldova Association Agreement in 2014-2016, coordination mechanism and new elements of the national plan for implementing Association Agreement in 2017-2019.

Also, the talks were focused on the priorities of Moldova’s European agenda for 2017, including the future Summit of Eastern Partnership, preparation for meeting the EU-Moldova Association Council, consolidation of information and communication efforts in terms of European integration with civil society.

The representatives of civil society thanked for organizing the meeting and voiced hope that the communication platform could be permanent. Civil society has a strong interest in the provisions of the Association Agreement, as well as the way of implementing the commitments.

For her part, Morari encouraged the civil society’s active involvement in processes contributing to carrying out the country’s European agenda. The official highlighted the importance of elaborating alternative studies and impact assessment, following the implementation of the Association Agreement.
