Over 130 electricity lines to be built, repaired in Moldova by European bank’s support

Chisinau, 22 February /MOLDPRES/ – Around 130 km of power lines will be built and repaired in the next two years with the support of the European Commission (EC) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), according to a decision approved at the Government meeting today.
The work will be performed within the project "Rehabilitation of electricity transmission networks "Moldelectrica" IS", which includes an amount of over €5.3 million. The money allocated will be used to perform work and procurement of necessary materials.
The project provides for the construction and reconstruction of five power lines with voltage 110 kV: Drochia – Suri (14.3 km), Suri – Donduseni (23.6 km), Chisinau – Hincesti (25.5 km), Hincesti – Cneazevca (42 7 km) and Soldanesti – Ignatei (22.0 km).
However, according to the document, construction and reconstruction of power lines will be executed including on private land with an area of 1,675 hectares belonging to 745 people. So, in order to accomplish the work, the state will take possession of private land for the total sum of about 262 thousand lei.
Up till now, IS "Moldelectrica" completed the design works and signed contracts for land allocation for these power lines.
