Chisinau, 22 February /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament will hold its first meeting of the spring session on 24 February. Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu today made statements to this effect after a meeting of the parliament’s Standing Bureau.

According to the speaker, the meeting’s agenda will include more organizational issues. “The parliament’s priorities for this year are to be discussed, which regard an action plan on the implementation of the Association Agreement with EU. During this session, the main goals remain: enforcement of laws, parliamentary control over the reforms launched in 2016, fulfilling the actions included in the roadmap and those agreed upon with the International Monetary Fund,” Andrian Candu said.

At the same time, the speaker informed about the creation of a working group for improving the Electoral Code and the electoral legislation. “There is a request on behalf of the civil society. More exactly, 17 organizations proposed to set up a working group for discussing this subject. Also, there are the recommendations of the Constitutional Court, international observers for the presidential elections, which we will directly take into account. Subsequently, more discussions will be on this subject, to learn the opinion of all experts,” Candu said.
