Consultations between foreign ministries of Moldova and Georgia held in Tbilisi

Chisinau, 24 February /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Lilian Darii held today in Tbilisi a round of consultations with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Vakhtang Makharobishvili, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry's information and media relations service has reported.
During the consultations, the two officials made an extensive exchange of views on the current issues of the agenda of Moldovan-Georgian bilateral relations, the cooperation between the two countries within the frameworks of international organizations, regional security and European integration.
The parties noted the positive dynamics of the bilateral political dialogue, efficient interaction in promoting the issues of protracted conflicts settlement in GUAM area within the frameworks of international organizations and the exchange of experience in European integration matters
The two officials stressed the importance of deepening the economic cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and Georgia, noting the necessity to organize a meeting of the intergovernmental commission for economic and trade cooperation.
On the sidelines of the consultations, Deputy Minister Darii held meetings with Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Gakharia, State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ketevan Tsikhelashvili and Prime-minister’s Special Representative for Relations with the Russian Federation Zurab Abashidze.
