Fifty first issue of international music festival inaugurated in Moldova

Chisinau, 01 March /MOLDPRES/ – The 51st edition of the International Music Festival "Martisor" that will take place on 01 – 10 March in Chisinau and in 21 districts of Moldova was inaugurated at National Palace "Nicolae Sulac" in the capital today.

The event was attended by Prime Minister Pavel Filip, Culture Minister Monica Babuc, other Government members, MPs, former presidents Mircea Snegur and Vladimir Voronin, representatives of diplomatic corps accredited in Chisinau, other officials.

In her speech, Culture Minister Monica Babuc said that inaugurated 51 years ago by Alexandru Fedco and Gleb Ceaicovschi – Meresanu, International Music Festival "Martisor" gathered during these decades artists valuable in Moldova and abroad.

According to the minister, the traditional festival brings to audience as famous national artistic collectives: National Academic Ensemble of Folk Dance "Joc", National Orchestra of Folk Music "Lautarii", ensemble of songs and dances "Fluieras", orchestras of popular music "Mugurel" and "Folclor", the national chamber Choir, choral Chapel "Doina", ensemble "Concertino – Band" and others, so bands from abroad.

However, artists from 11 countries (Switzerland, Italy, China, Russian Federation, United States, United Kingdom, Romania, Poland, Germany, Belarus and Moldova) will participate in the 51st edition of the International Music Festival "Martişor". Totally, this edition includes 22 performances in Chisinau and 26 in districts of Moldova.

In the opening festival show, on stage of the National Palace, evolved folk music Orchestra of brothers Advahov, Alex Calancea Band, National Academic Ensemble of Folk Dance "Joc", bands "Concertino", "Akord" and "Plaiesii", artists Zinaida Julea, Andrei Jilihovschi, Alexandra Conunov, Iurie Sadovnic, Ana Cernicova, Adriana Ochisanu, Radu Dolgan and Lidia Botezatu, Nicolae and Isidor Glib, Nicolae Gribincea and others.

The festival will end on 10 March at National Palace "Nicolae Sulac" in Chisinau with a jubilee concert of band "Noroc" at the 50-th anniversary.
