Chinese opera, Russian orchestra concert on stages of Moldovan music festival

Chisinau, 04 March /MOLDPRES/ – The audience of Chisinau had the opportunity to admire two concerts presented by artists of Beijing Opera and the ones of Symphony Orchestra Moscow Virtuosi, on the second day of International Music Festival Martisor, 51st issue, which takes place on 01 – 10 March in Moldova.

The Chinese artists performed at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet Maria Biesu and the Russian ones at National Palace Nicolae Sulac in Moldovan capital.

The audience had the opportunity to watch the most popular pieces of Chinese operas during the concert of Tianjin Academy Beijing Opera, presented by Beautiful Tianjin Art Troupe in Chinese with subtitles in Romanian. The event was organized by the Culture Ministry of the Republic of Moldova in cooperation with the Culture Ministry of China, the Republic of China Embassy in Moldova and the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet Maria Biesu.

At the beginning evolutions artists from Tianjin Academy of Beijing Opera,  Culture Minister Monica Babuc pointed out that Beijing Opera was included, since 2010, on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

At the same time, the Moldovan official said that the last three editions of festival Martisor was attended by the National Orchestra of Women in Jiangsu, China, and the group of dancers composed of persons with disabilities China Disabled People's Performing Art Troupe, which revealed an increased interest of the public and local authorities to Chinese culture. On this occasion, Monica Babuc thanked the Embassy of China in Moldova for the exemplary cooperation in promoting cultural values.

The Tianjin Academy of Beijing Opera was established in 1956. It is a premier Art Academy in China, considered a national intangible cultural relic. The Academy were involved numerous artists who were awarded with various awards and honorary titles.

The same evening, the audience had the opportunity to admire and members Symphony Orchestra Moscow Virtuosi headed by Vladimir Spivakov, in a show held at the National Palace Nicolae Sulac in Chisinau.

Symphony Orchestra Moscow Virtuosi was founded in 1979 by the famous Russian violinist and conductor Vladimir Spivakov. Yearly, the orchestra presents about 100 concerts. For his contribution to the world art and his activities regarding peace and dialogue among cultures, Vladimir Spivakov was designated the title of UNESCO Artist for Peace in 2006. He was also awarded the highest state awards of Russia, Ukraine, France and Armenia. In 2000, he received the Order of the Legion of Honour from the President of France and he was elected Doctor Honoris Causa of Moscow University M.V. Lomonosov in 2002.
