Moldovan premier, international association head discuss social reforms

Chisinau, 07 March /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip had a meeting with President of the International Social Security Association (ISSA), Joachim Breuer, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

The prime minister said within the dialogue that social security consisted the Cabinet’s priority. "People appreciate the work of the Executive in terms of social benefits. As such, we launched a series of reforms, including business support. We are a pro – business government because we want to make social investments,"  Pavel Filip said.

At the same time, the prime minister said that by the end of year 2016, it was launched the pension reform by means of which it was provided the social equity to citizens and there were eliminated the shortcomings of the old system. "We have many plans for the future, including within the social domain. We count on further technical expertise and advice provided by ISSA," concluded the Head of the Government.

At his part, the head of ISSA assured that he would support the Moldovan authorities in promoting the social reforms. "It is very important that business and social field to complement each other. The social justice should be seen as an investment," said Joachim Breuer.

During the meeting, the officials also exchanged views on the importance of reforming the system of determining disability, the National Agency for Employment, as well as the System of Healthcare.

The International Social Security Association (ISSA) was founded in 1927 and includes more than 320 members from over 150 countries. The main ISSA’s objective is to promote and develop the social security worldwide.
