First issue of Japanese film festival to be held in Moldova

Chisinau, 13 March /MOLDPRES/ - The first issue of the Japanese film festival will take place at the Chisinau-based Odeon Culture Centre on 17-18 March, sources from the Embassy of Japan in Moldova informed today.      

The event is organized on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Moldova and Japan.

The official opening of the festival will be held on 17 March. Attending the event will be Ambassador of Japan to Moldova Masanobu Yoshii.  

According to organizers, three Japanese films for different tastes and age categories will be presented at the festival, of which one film will be a cartoon. All the three movies are screened in Japanese with subtitles in the Romanian and English languages. The entrance to all screenings is free.  

The diplomatic relations between Moldova and Japan were set on 16 March 1992.
