Social security contributions, certain state social benefits to be indexed in Moldova

Chisinau, 15 March /MOLDPRES/ – The Cabinet approved today a decision whereby the minimum pension for age limit is established, from 01 April, in the amount of 961 lei, by 6.8 per cent more than the present one. Also, it was indexed in similar size, by 6.8 per cent, the minimum amount of disability pension, up to 480.50 – 720.75 lei, depending on the degree of disability.

According to the decision, indexation will include "all pensions which were set and recalculated under the Law on public pension system."

As a result of indexation by 6.8 per cent, the average pension for age limit will increase by 104.87 lei for 532,075 beneficiaries, disability pensions will increase by 75.28 lei for 132,425 beneficiaries and the average pension of participants in liquidation of consequences of the Chernobyl accident will be given to 1,842 persons with an increase of 193.03 lei.
