Moldovan financial sector to be supported by USA

Chisinau, 15 March /MOLDPRES/ – Cabinet of Ministers approved in its meeting today, signing of an amendment to the Agreement of Assistance on objective development between the Moldovan and the US governments to increase trade and investment in key sectors, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The document provides for allocation of an additional amount of $500 thousand to increase transparency and accountability of financial institutions, but also to increase capacity of Government and civil society in the field.

The total amount of the grant provided by the United States under this agreement will reach $10.8 million.

The Assistance Agreement between the Moldovan and the US Governments will help maintain the objective of developing the cooperation relations between Moldova and the USA, economic growth and more investment in the most promising industries of the Republic of Moldova.
