Moldovan, Austrian officials broach cooperation

Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip had a meeting with Grawe Group Director of Austria Othmar Ederer, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The premier pointed out the activity on the insurance market in Moldova of Grawe concern, which is an important investor in the EU. At the same time, he noted that one of the goals of activity was focused on providing favorable conditions for business environment by ensuring fair justice and efficient functioning of institutions for fighting corruption. “We take every effort to create a more favorable business climate and draw potential investors. We focus on two important elements: overcoming bureaucratic barriers and creating comfortable conditions for entrepreneurs by approving clear and fair rules”, Filip said.

For his part, Ederer appreciated openness and efforts and expressed confidence of successful and long-term collaboration. “Our company intention is to have a sustainable and protected activity in Moldova, and our experience enables us to guarantee quality service to our customers”, he said.

In the context, the premier said he was aware of problems faced by the Austrian company during the last years. At the same time, he informed about measures taken in suing at law people who are guilty of harming the Grawe activity in Moldova. Filip assured that the government would back and protect interests of each foreign investor and those who are going to invest in Moldova.

Grawe company is an international financial concern with diversified component: banks, insurance companies, real estate companies, and ranks among the top companies in Austria.
