Chisinau hosts Moldovan-Romanian inter-ministerial political consultations

Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/ – A new round of political consultations at the level of deputy minister/state secretary was held in Chisinau today. The Moldovan delegation was led by Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister, Lilian Darii, and the Romanian one by State Secretary for Strategic Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dan Neculaescu, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.

During the consultations, the two officials exchanged extensive views on the entire spectrum of current issues on the Moldovan-Romanian bilateral agenda, particularly on points related to  bilateral political dialogue, Moldova's European agenda, cooperation in economic field, promoting energy projects etc.

The Deputy Minister Darii thanked Romania for valuable support given to Moldova in the spirit of strategic partnership for European integration to continue the European course, also reiterated the importance of maintaining it in the future. In this context, it was confirmed mutual interest for organization of the next meeting of the Joint Commission for European Integration in Chisinau, eventually in the second quarter of this year.

At his part, Secretary of State Dan Neculaescu reiterated that Bucharest to further support Moldova in implementing reforms under the Association Agreement with the European Union and overcoming the faced difficulties, including infrastructure projects completion and support for people.

During the consultations, the regional situation, security environment of Moldova and the Transnistrian issue were also discussed.
