Moldovan premier receives Japanese Ambassador in Chisinau

Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip held a meeting with Japanese Ambassador to Moldova, Masanobu Yoshii, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

During the dialogue, the prime minister directed to Japanese government thanks for the support and technical assistance to Moldova in several sectors including: health, culture, economy and environment. Similarly, Pavel Filip noted that Japan is the third largest donor of Moldova. "I have every confidence that with the opening of diplomatic missions, our relations will become even more dynamic. Thank you for your attitude and personal dynamism that you manifest in the office of Ambassador," said Pavel Filip.

At his part, the Japanese Ambassador to Moldova handed in to Prime Minister Pavel Filip a congratulatory message from the Japanese Prime Minister on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations. Also, the Japanese diplomat noted that the help provided to Moldova aimed to support efforts to improve the citizens’ living standards.

The officials also talked about the development of agriculture in Moldova. The Japanese Ambassador in Chisinau said that on 07 March 2017, it was signed a grant agreement worth almost $5 million to implement project "Conservation Agriculture – development of a sustainable soil management in Moldova". Prime Minister Pavel Filip stressed it to be very important for farmers to use modern technology in their work to ensure the competitiveness of the sector.
