Chisinau, 17 March /MOLDPRES/ – The parliamentary majority today rejected the simple motion initiated by Socialist MPs against Minister of Transports and Road Infrastructure Iurie Chirinciuc.

According to motion’s authors, the Transports Minister would be guilty "of the disastrous situation in railroad, because employees at Railroad of Moldova (RM) would not be received salaries for half a year and the National Agency of Auto Transport (ANTA) would be in need of an urgent reform".

During the report presentation, the Transports Minister described the socialist deputies’ allegations as groundless. "For half a year, the institution debts were reduced by 89 million lei. Two anti-crisis plans were developed in the medium term, which have to be approved. According to documents, the institution will be organized into three institutions which will be responsible for: managing railroad infrastructure, passenger transportation and freight traffic, which will result in reforming the institution and economic growth," said Chirinciuc.

The official said that at present were paid salaries for November 2016. "The issue of salary in RM is a very old, while debts have accumulated for years, so it takes time to identify a viable solution to this problem," said Chirinciuc.

After discussions, the simple motion against Minister of Transport was rejected after failing the required number of votes from lawmakers.
