16:01 | 21.03.2017 Category: Economic

Chisinau, 21 March /MOLDPRES/ – The prices for the most demanded car petrol Premium 95 will decrease on Wednesday with 49 bani per litre and diesel will be cheaper by 54 bani. The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) today set the trading ceiling price for petrol Premium-95, for 22 March – 04 April, to 17.34 lei a litre and diesel by 15.08 lei.

It is the second time that petrol and diesel are cheaper after seven consecutive times of increasing the prices.

New prices for petrol and diesel will come into effect at midnight, when operators will not be allowed to sell retail fuel at higher prices than those established by ANRE. The prices provided on ANRE’s website today will be valid for 14 calendar days.

ANRE has applied the procedure of ceiling pricing for marketing fuels since late May, when it was set a price of 16.21 lei per litre of Premium-95 and 13.83 lei a litre for diesel.

The price of oil decreased again on 21 March, up to $46.13 per barrel (WTI), after a few days the quotations rose slightly, writes MarketWatch.com. Brent oil with delivery in February traded with $48.35 per barrel.

The price of oil fell by almost 50 per cent since June last year so far, while the US has pumped at the fastest pace in the last three decades and the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) resisted calls to supply reduction.
