New law to regulate market of veterinary preparations in Moldova

Chisinau, 22 March /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet today approved a draft law on veterinary preparations, in order to protect the animals’ health and public health in Moldova. The document is meant to supply the Moldovan market with efficient and qualitative veterinary preparations, by regulating the entrepreneurial activity in terms of registration, manufacture, import, stocking, distribution and issuance of veterinary medicinal products on Moldova’s market, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

Also, the draft stipulates the requirements concerning the labeling and notice to veterinary preparations, programme of pharmacological vigilance, as well as measures of supervising and the sanctions applied. In this respect, the powers of the National Agency for Food Safety and of the commission of veterinary preparations are established.  

The implementation of the draft’s provisions will help adjust the national legislation to the EU’s one; thus, the technical barriers to the foreign trade will be liquidated.
