Artists from six countries to participate in jazz festival in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 05 April /MOLDPRES/ – Artists from six countries (Moldova, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Poland and Senegal) will participate in the fifth issue of the International Festival Jazz`n Chisinau, which will be held on 05 – 10 April in Moldova.

The event is organized with the support of the German Cultural Center Akzente, which marks its ten years in 2017. In this context, at a press conference held today in Chisinau, the director of Akzente, Corina Girla said that the institution would celebrate ten years of promoting German language and culture in Moldova through some events organized jointly with local and international partners.

The director of Festival Jazz`n Chisinau, Valeriu Culea stressed that it aimed to promote the most talented singers and musicians of jazz both in Moldova and abroad, to create new ways of communication through art and to arouse public interest in jazz.

"Special guests at the festival are: Pablo Held Quartet (Germany), Tomasz Wendt Jazz Trio (Poland), Ruta Duduma (Latvia), Rosa Brunello (Italy) and Moulaye Niang (Senegal). Through this event, we also want to help to developing of musical culture in Moldova," said Valeriu Culea.

The festival opening concert takes place on 05 April at the National Philharmonic Serghei Lunchevici. German band Pablo Held Quartet will perform on the same stage on 06 April at 19.00. The participation was sponsored by the Goethe Institute in Bucharest.

The festival participants will perform in Tiraspol on 07 April, in Cimislia on 08 April and in Soroca on 10 April.
