NATO experts assess Moldova's achievements within PfP Planning and Review Process

Chisinau, 11 April /MOLDPRES/ – A group of NATO experts, being on a visit in Moldova on 11 – 12 April, assesses Moldova's achievements within Partnership for Peace Planning and Review Process (PARP).

According to the state secretary of the Defence Ministry, Aurel Fondos, the evaluation on behalf of NATO experts is significant for Moldova to know the achievements and shortcomings of the goals assumed within PARP direction, as to draw a more accurate subsequent actions.

During the visit, the experts scheduled meetings with officials of the PARP of the Ministry of Defence and General Staff of the National Army, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Finance, Internal Affairs (Department of Border Police, Department of Carabinieri Troops) and Information and Security Service.

The Partnership for Peace Planning and Review Process is a methodology of defence planning developed by NATO for partner countries on the basis of defence planning system, which is currently used in all Western countries.

Moldova joined PARP in 1997, and the progress assessment is made yearly.
