Chisinau, 13 April /MOLDPRES/- Young people aged 18 will be conscripted in the Armed Forces in April-July, according to a government decision, due to be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 14 April.

Under the document, Moldovan citizens who have no right to delay or exempt from military service will be enlisted in the Armed Forces.

Thus, up to 1,100 people will be recruited in the National Army, 620 – carabineer troops and 10 persons – short-term military service.

At the same time, servicemen whose period of service has expired will be released and placed in reserve.

According to data by the Defence Ministry, about 1,800 young people were incorporated into the National Army in 2016.
