Transnistrian delegation continues to block Joint Control Commission's activity

Chisinau, 14 April /MOLDPRES/- On 13 April, an ordinary meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) was held in Bender, which was chaired by the Moldovan delegation’s head, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.

Following a proposal by the Ukrainian embassy in Moldova, military attaché, Colonel Serghei Smetaniuk attended the event as JCC expert. The Transnistrian delegation proposed Pavel Miheev as expert.

The JCC heard and approved 2 weekly reports of the Joint Military Command on situation in the Security Zone.

The Moldovan delegation proposed to consider the issue on monitoring the situation in the Security Zone. Tiraspol representatives obstructed the discussions on this important issue for residents of both banks of the Dniestre. Therefore the talks will continue at the meeting of co-heads, representatives of Ukraine and OSCE Mission to Moldova, due on 18 April.

The participants in the meeting also agreed that the Transnistrian side would consider the issue related to canceling restrictions imposed by the Tiraspol bodies to police officers from Bender-based Police Inspectorate, who in April 2013 carried out their duties within a rogatory commission in the criminal investigation on P. Miscenco, an especially dangerous offender.

Most topical issues were transferred to the next meeting, due on 20 April 2017.

At the end of the meeting, the Moldovan delegation reminded the participants on misconduct of JCC co-head of Transnistria O. Beleacov, who misleads the public, including media, as regards the real situation in the Security Zone. The JCC member have got a declaration “on misleading by the Transnistrian JCC delegation head of public opinion, foreign partners and straining the situation in the Security Zone”.
