Holy Fire to reach Chisinau on 15 April evening

Chisinau, 15 April /MOLDPRES/ – Holy Fire will arrive in Moldova on 15 April 2017, between 19.00 and 20.00, MOLDPRES informs with reference to sources in the Metropolis of Chisinau and All Moldova’s communication department has reported.

The Sacred light will be brought to Moldova for the 15th consecutive time and will be divided to Priests and believers in the square of Metropolitan Cathedral.

According to the Metropolitan secretary, prosyncellus Vadim Cheibas, a delegation of the Moldovan Metropolitan Church, led by His Eminence, Metropolitan Vladimir went, on Holy Thursday, to the Holy Land, to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem, in order to take up the holy light. The delegation, which includes four clerics, moved to Tel Aviv with a private commercial airline, which in the recent two years has supported the mission of bringing the Holy Fire in Moldova.

For centuries, the Holy Fire is considered a miracle of Orthodoxy. After Savior Christ was buried, a bright light broke the stone and since then, the divine fire has lit on the tomb of Christ each time during the Vespers of Great Saturday. This year, the Easter Holiday takes place on 16 April.
