Chisinau, 22 April /MOLDPRES/ – Several state services continued this morning to work to mitigate the consequences of natural disasters of the recent days. The firefighters, police, army, traffic, forestry, local authorities, as well as a large number of volunteers from the population, participate in the snow removal and rescue actions.

According to the latest info, more than 400 localities from 16 districts of Moldova currently remain without light. According to Prime Minister Pavel Filip, in some localities there are serious failures, which is why the connection to electricity will be delayed maybe even a few days.

The Ministry of Transports and Road Infrastructure informs that in the morning of Saturday all routes to the districts in the south of Moldova were resumed. As a result, North, South and Central bus stations work as usual. At the same time, until 14.00, the sector on the regional road G120 R26 Ukraine – border with Ukraine remains closed. The mobile teams of the State Road Administration carry out unblocking of this portion to ensure road access and traffic.

Also, the Moldovan Customs Service announced that more customs posts resumed work in Moldova and work normally. "On the morning of today, the customs posts Siiti, Cismichioi, Ceadir-Lunga 1, Ceadir-Lunga 2 and Ribnita railroad re-started to activate. The cross-border transit is carried out without any impediments also through the customs offices Sculeni and Leuseni, with the limitations of traffic being lifted on the territory of Romania", says a state-of-the-art communiqué of the Moldovan Customs Service.

At the same time, due to technical defects of the Romanian Border Police database, the crossing of the border through the Cahul-Oancea crossing point is not allowed. Also due to the impracticable roads, there are blocked access ways to the internal control customs stations located on the central segment Rezina and Criuleni 18. The other border customs stations operate in normal regime, with no high traffic values.

At its part, the City Hall of Chisinau announced that all the trolley-bus routes resumed activity, except №3, and many routes were modified or shortened in the morning. The urban bus park, which also provides traffic on suburban roads, also works. At present, all municipal services are trained in the removal of damaged trees, the plundering and cleaning of pluvial sewerage, etc. There continues reconnecting of consumers to the centralized heating system.

At the same time, the Ministry of Environment informs that in the recent 24 hours, in the central and southern parts of Moldova, there were record amounts of precipitation (snow and rain), only one day there was registered the norm for a month. Temperatures will increase gradually in the next period, and the snow will melt, forming very large amounts of water.

The Environment Ministry warns that it is important that in the next 2-3 days, all the drainage paths, such as canals, ravines, rivers, ponds to be cleaned of fallen trees in order to ensure the greatest possible water evacuation capacity.

The specialists from the "Apele Moldovei" (Waters of Moldova) Agency detected several debris from the fallen trees (with the green canopy they have a very high capacity of water retention) along the river Bic, along the length of the Chisinau municipality. During the day of Saturday it will be intervened to eliminate those obstacles, ensuring as much water evacuation as possible to avoid floods.

The State Hydrometeorological Service announced that this night there are expected up to -6 degrees of cold in the air. The same temperatures will be in the next few days. During the day, the air temperature will increase to 10-11 degrees of heat.
