Official reserve assets up by 2.3 per cent in Moldova in first three months of 2017

Chisinau, 25 April /MOLDPRES/ - The currency reserves of the National Bank of Moldova (BNM) increased by 51 million dollars in the first three months of 2017, against late 2016, to 2.256 billion dollars, according to a report made public by BNM today.

In last March, the currency reserves grew by 20 million dollars against February 2017. Most reserve assets, respectively 1.2 billion dollars, represent securities, and more than one billion of the assets are kept in deposits, of which 874 million in “banks with the main office abroad.”  

According to BNM data, the official reserve assets increased by about 470 million lei in 2016.
