Chisinau, 26 April /MOLDPRES/ - The institutions subordinated to the government will intervene in the Chisinau city to liquidate the consequences of the last days’ bad weather. Prime Minister Pavel Filip made statements to this effect at a news conference today.

According to the PM, the forces will be mobilized to promptly intervene in this emergency situation. “The impact of the natural calamities is major and forces are needed. We have trees and branches on the edge of falling; therefore, we ruled to mobilize all forces to make proper order in Chisinau. We decided to act in the areas of police stations. Following the works, all streets and yards will be cleaned,” Filip said.

The PM specified that the works of Moldovan capital’s sanitation will start at 5:00 am on 27 April. “Over 1,000 carabineers and National Army soldiers will be involved. All the teams involved will receive the needed equipment and food. Also, over 200 professionals and almost one hundred special transport units will be involved in the cleaning of trees,” Filip said.

Also, Pavel Filip urged the citizens to be attentive nearby trees, as there is the risk that they fall. “I urge the citizens to abstain from moving in Chisinau by car. I ask the drivers who have their vehicles parked in yards to be receptive to appeals by order forces, when it will be necessary to remove the vehicles in order to cut trees. We will try to mobilize ourselves at the maximum, in order to clean the city. If we do not manage to do this in two days, we will extend the period,” Pavel Filip added.

According to the Chisinau city hall, over 150 flats, 43 education institutions were hit by the last days’ bad weather and more than 10,000 trees and about 100 pillars collapsed, thus affecting the power lines.
