Moldovan government approves increase of minimum salary in real sector of economy

Chisinau, 26 April /MOLDPRES/ – The guaranteed minimum salary in real sector of the national economy will consist 2,380 lei per month, up 13.3 per cent from the current level, from 01 May this year. A decision in this regard was approved at Executive's meeting today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

So, employers in the real sector of economy will not be able to offer a salary of less than 14.09 lei per hour. At present the remuneration level is set at 2,100 lei per month or 12.43 lei per hour.

The amount of the guaranteed minimum salary in real sector is reviewed yearly by Government, according to the Law of Wage. The adjustment is made on the basis of the yearly increase of consumer index and the rate of increase in labour productivity at national level.

Under the conditions of the inflation rate of 6.4% and the rate of increase of the national labor productivity of 6.9 per cent in 2016, the increase for the current year is 13.3 per cent.
