Moldovan Liberal MP leaves parliamentary majority

13:22 | 28.04.2017 Category: Political

Chisinau, 28 April /MOLDPRES/- Liberal Party MP Lilian Carp today announced he was leaving the parliamentary majority.

He noted he will take decision to stay or not in PL later. He said that the current parliamentary majority no longer needs PL, as the party can be easily replaced with Leanca-Ghiletchi group.

The PL member said that the change of the electoral system was not discussed with the alliance partners. “You cannot be in a parliamentary majority which speaks about European integration at meetings, but in reality wants to liquidate the party. It is more convenient to collaborate with the blackmailed”, he said.

PL leader Mihai Ghimpu said that Carp’s opinion is a separate one, but he will respect it. “I asked my colleagues to give me time to examine the situation. Carp has rushed, but we remain colleagues. I respect his decision and possibly he had personal reasons”, Ghimpu said.

Carp is 39 years old and since December 2014, he is MP of PL. He is deputy head of the PL and member of the parliamentary committee on culture, education, research, youth, sports and media.
