Chisinau, 5 May /MOLDPRES/ - An MP of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), Nicolae Olaru, today said he would leave the faction and act as independent lawmaker.
Olaru made statements to this effect several hours after the Constitutional Court had validated his mandate.
Nicolae Olaru got to the parliament after Deputy Parliament Speaker Liliana Palihovici in late last week had informed that she gave up her MP mandate and quit PLDM for personal reasons.
Presently, the PLDM faction has five MPs out of the 23 initially elected lawmakers.
Nicolae Olaru was born in the Sircova, northern Rezina district, and is historian by profession. During years, he held more offices, among which the one of deputy agriculture minister.
