Chisinau, 05 May /MOLDPRES/ – An exhibition of students’ works entitled “Creatia deschide universul” (The Creation opens the Universe), the 7th issue, was inaugurated at the TEKWILL Centre for Excellence in ICT at the Technical University of Moldova (UTM) today. This issue is dedicated to Europe Day and will be open until 07 May.

Interviewed by the agency, UTM vice-rector Valentin Amariei said the present issue to be a traditional exhibition of students, master students, doctoral students and young researchers of nine faculties, manifesting their achievements in the technical-scientific field.

According to the cited source, more than 500 works are exhibited in all areas: interior design, industrial, clothing and printing, architectural and energetic works, machinery and mechanical engineering, ICT and bioenergetics, radio and telecommunications, civil engineering and transport, food technology and environmental protection, etc.

Among the exhibits is a model of a factory for making smartphones, presented by a team of students from the Faculty of Informatics and Microelectronics headed by Vlad Timoftica. At his turn, the head of the Electrical Engineering Department, Ilie Nuca, said that his students presented models of multi-level parking and converters for the traction of trolleybuses and trams.

According to the Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Business Engineering, Vasile Mamaliga, such exhibitions would be much more useful if they were specialized in the fields and would take several days for them to be visited by the managers of small and medium enterprises, who would find qualified specialists there.

Academician Ion Bostan said that the inventions in Moldova had to be registered in the countries that could purchase them. “Unfortunately, we do not really care about our intellectual production. Israel, for example, has an annual $20 billion in revenue from technology sales. We, with our technologies, could win hundreds of millions of dollars every year,” said Ion Bostan.

The winners awarding ceremonies of the National Technical Olympiad to mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science, plastic art, student Olympiad of oil painting “Miscarea in timp si spatiu” (Movement in time and space) etc. took place at the exhibition.
