Local elections held in seven Moldovan localities

Chisinau, 14 May /MOLDPRES/ – The citizens of seven localities in Moldova take part at voting of mayors today.

According to the Central Electoral Commission’s (CEC) information and media communication service, in voting will be elected mayors of village Mereni in Anenii Noi district, village Hirova in Calarasi district, commune Pervomaisc in Causeni district, commune Tipala in Ialoveni district, Ulmu village in Ialoveni district, village Racovat in Soroca district and Tvardita town in Taraclia district.

For the mayor office in seven localities enrolled 26 electoral contestants in the race. Among these, two are independent candidates and 24 are nominated by political parties.

According to the cited source, most of the candidates for the mayoralty were registered by the electoral councils of Mereni, Anenii Noi district and Racovat, Soroca district, seven and five competitors respectively. For the mayor office in Tipala, Ialoveni district, four competitors were registered. For Hirova, Calarasi district and Pervomaisc, Causeni district – three candidates, and two candidates for village Ulmu, Ialoveni district and Tvardita town in Taraclia district.
