Moldovan deputy premier meets Russian special representative for Transnistrian conflict settlement

Chisinau, 22 May /MOLDPRES/ – Deputy Prime Minister Gheorghe Balan met with the special representative of the Russian Federation in the Transnistrian settlement, E.S. Serghei Gubarev today, who pays a working visit to Moldova, the office for reintegration policies’ public relations service has informed.

The officials exchanged views on the latest developments in the Transnistrian issue, some aspects of the Chisinau-Tiraspol dialogue, as well as the prospects for negotiation process advancement.

Gheorghe Balan mentioned the Moldovan authorities’ openness for the dynamic dialogue within all the existing negotiating platforms.

At his turn, Ambassador Serghei Gubarev appreciated the position in question and expressed his hope in achieving that goal.

By the meeting end, the interlocutors expressed the need to focus efforts on identifying viable solutions to existing problems, favorable to the interests of the population on both banks of the Dniester.
