PM encourages Moldova's promotion as tourist destination

Chisinau, 24 May /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip, in the beginning of a today’s meeting, referred to the opportunity to promote Moldova from the tourism viewpoint, through the light of a meeting of the Regional Commission for European of the World Tourism Organization, due in Chisinau on 5-7 June, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.   

The event will bring together 40 ministers and leaders in the tourism sector, as well as journalists specialized in this field. Thus, the prime minister made an appeal to the Tourism Agency, as well as other decision-makers in charge of the meeting’s organization, to take every effort in order to ensure the successful carrying out of the event.    

“Tourism can become an important branch for Moldova’s economy. While so far, we have been speaking only about external tourism, let us not forget that we have a country with traditions, a beautiful country and we must already put emphasis on the domestic tourism,” Pavel Filip said.
