Chisinau, 24 May  /MOLDPRES/ – Foreigners will get easier the right to work and stay in Moldova, according to a draft law approved by the Government. The document aims to facilitate hiring of citizens of other states, thus increasing the investment attractiveness of Moldova and contributing to the improvement of the business environment, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The procedures and deadlines for granting the right to work and stay for foreigners, including permits, were revised and optimized, for this reason. Similarly, the list of documents necessary for obtaining those documents was simplified, and the institutional capacities of the Unique Office for Documentation of Foreigners within the Office of Migration and Asylum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were strengthened too.

The draft law regulates the granting and extension of temporary residence right of foreign investors, temporary work permits for senior management, highly qualified workers and posted workers.

Also, in order to stimulate local employment in investment projects of national importance, it is foreseen that the number of foreign employees will gradually diminish in favour of Moldova so that their share is not less than 50 per cent of the total number of employees after the first five years of activity.

The changes were made in accordance with the Program of Activity of the Government for 2016-2018, which provides the adjustment of the national legislative framework in the area to the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) of the RM-EU Association Agreement.
