Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today appointed to office deputy ministers at more ministries, after representatives of the Liberal Party had tendered resignation earlier this week. “The government is and will be functional and enjoys support by the parliamentary majority,” Prime Minister Pavel Filip said in the beginning of the meeting.

Thus, the director of the National Agency for Regulation of Nuclear and Radiological Activities, Ion Apostol, was appointed deputy minister at the Environment Ministry.

The head of the legal department at the Tutun CTC enterprise, Adrian Cazacu, was appointed head of the State Agency for Geology AGeoM.

Deputy Regional Development and Constructions Minister Anatol Usatii was appointed deputy transport and roads infrastructure minister.

The director of the Education Institute, Lilia Pogolsa, was appointed deputy minister at the Education Ministry.

Vitalie Birsan was appointed director of the Material Reserves Agency.

Lilia Bolocan was appointed director of the State Intellectual Property Agency, who has earlier held this position.

The prime minister stressed that he would sign an instruction, under which the deputy ministers will provisionally exercise the duties of ministers. “We will not resort to appointing new ministers at these ministries, as we are on the final straight with the government’s reform. I believe that, in one week, we will approve the new law on government at the executive body, after which we will ask for the support of colleagues from the parliament,” Pavel Filip added.
