Chisinau, 6 June /MOLDPRES/- The Democratic Party of Moldova has criticized the anti-European statements made by President Igor Dodon in St Petersburg and described them as “being at the expense of the external vector chosen by citizens”. Party spokesman Vitalie Gamurari made the statement today after the PD weekly meeting.
Gamurari said that Dodon “uses every opportunity to expose against the European vector of foreign policy, which runs counter to the views of the authorities and majority of citizens”.
Also, Gamurari announced that the Democrats will not back the simple motion initiated by Socialists against Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur. “PD believes that this motion is strictly ideological and is not grounded. Mr.Galbur and MAEIE have all support from PD. We believe he achieves his goals in the implementation of the government programme”, he said.
Last week, on a working visit to Russia to participate in the 21st International Economic Forum in St.Petersburg, Dodon delivered a speech criticizing Moldova’s rapprochement with the EU and USA, noting that Chisinau must focus on traditional and historical regional unions.
