Moldovan electoral body to ask State Tax Service to check origin of donations transferred to parties' accounts

Chisinau, 6 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) will ask the State Tax Service to check the origin of the donations exceeding the sum of 75,000 lei, transferred to the accounts of five political parties, under a decision approved at a CEC meeting today.
According to the CEC press service, it is about the Liberal Party, Democratic Party, Political Party Our Party, Dignity and Truth Platform Political Party and the Party of Communists.
At the same time, the Commission will ask the Interior Ministry to consider whether the work of the Shor Political Party is or not indirectly financed by non-commercial, charity organizations, anonymous persons and in the name of third parties and whether the formation uses undeclared funds. Subsequently, CEC will submit the decision to the Justice Ministry and the Court of Accounts.
Also, at the today’s meeting, the Commission warned more political parties about the need to observe the deadlines concerning the reporting on the financial management for 2016 and the contravention procedure for non-presentation of financial reports has been already initiated against other political formations.
