Chisinau, 09 June /MOLDPRES/ – The lawmakers revoted the draft law for ratification of the Protocol amending the Agreement between the Governments of Moldova and of Romania on cooperation in the military field today. The document was subject to a review after the previously voted act was rejected by the Moldovan president, Igor Dodon.

According to the draft amendment of the Agreement between the Government of Moldova and the Government of Romania on military cooperation, in the case of joint military exercises, the host country will provide food free of charge to the visiting party’s staff.

Earlier, President Igor Dodon refused to sign the protocol to amend the agreement, on the grounds that the status of Moldova’s neutrality was violated.

According to the legislation in force, the head of state is obliged to sign the documents revoted by the Legislature.

The Republic of Moldova and Romania have concluded the Agreement on military cooperation on 20 April 2012. It provides for consultations, joint military visits and exercises, scientific meetings and exchange of officers.
