Over 130 trees in Chisinau affected by storm

Chisinau, 24 June /MOLDPRES/- Over 130 trees in the capital were affected by the storm on 23 June. At the same time, about 10 electrical wires of the public lighting network were recorded, and nearly 45 addresses were affected by the electric transport contact networks.

According to the press service of the Chisinau city hall, two hours after the storm, the electrical transport contact network was restored and more than 60 per cent of the required works have been performed so far. In the morning, employees of Exdrupo administration work to clean streets and rainwater networks and evacuate sludge and waste from wind and water.

The yesterday storm has also damaged the housing in the capital. The most difficult situation was recorded on Ialoveni Street, 96, where about 60 square meters of the roof were damaged. The roof of the houses on Timis Street, 5, and Columna Street, 181, was also affected.

According to data by the Civil Protection and Emergency Service, the windy rain damaged several roofs in Durlesti, Cricova, Hincesti and Ungheni. Damaged roofs of several educational institutions were registered in the villages of Teșcureni, Bușila, Buciumeni and Negurenii Vechi. The specialized teams of Gas Natural Union Fenosa are trained to reconnect consumers. Local commissions on emergencies are to estimate damages in affected areas.

At the same time, several hectares of vineyards and agricultural crops were affected in six villages of Cahul district - Lucești, Bucuria, Larga Nouă, Moscovei, Badicul Moldovenesc and Baurci Moldoveni. Also, two segments of local roads were damaged in Baurci Moldoveni and Badicul Moldovenesc.

According to meteorologists, no precipitations will be expected in the weekend, but rains will return early next week.
