Chisinau, 27 June /MOLDPRES/ - The tendency of decrease in the pump price for petrol and diesel has been maintained for almost two months. After a cheapening of 3.3 per cent and, respectively, five per cent during 14-27 June, the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) today set ceiling prices for petrol by 3.3 per cent lower than the ones earlier in force and by 2.5 per cent for diesel. The ceiling selling price for the most demanded Premium-95 petrol was established by ANRE at 16.02 lei for one litre and for diesel – at 13.61 lei for the period 28 June – 11 July.

On 16-30 May, the petrol and diesel cheapened by 4.7 per cent and respectively, 4.1 per cent, and on the immediately next period, the fuels’ prices decreased by 2.6 per cent, and, respectively, 3 per cent.

The new prices for petrol will enter into force at midnight, when operators will have no right to sell fuels by retail at higher prices than the ones established by ANRE. The prices posted on ANRE’s webpage today will be valid for 14 calendar days.

The oil price continued to drop on 27 June, despite the skepticism showed by experts about efforts of the OPEC member countries and other states to reduce the excess supply of oil on the international market. The oil’s Brent quotation today morning went down under 46 dollars for one barrel, to a value of 45.98 dollars, according to RBC Ukraine.
