Moldovan citizens urged to abstain from travelling to North Korea

17:37 | 27.06.2017 Category: Social

Chisinau, 27 June /MOLDPRES/ - Moldovan citizens are urged to abstain from traveling to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. The warning has been made also for economic agents from the tourism industry.

According to the Tourism Agency’s press service, the reason for the warnings would be the fact that the bilateral relation between Moldova and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is tempered by the regime of sanctions imposed by the United Nations Organization’s Security Council, as well as the positions promoted by this country’s authorities in terms of regional and world security.

At the same time, if the Moldovan citizens are already on the territory of this state, they are asked to inform about their presence in the region, by communicating the personal positioning at the Call Centre of Moldova’s Foreign and European Integration Ministry, in order to be able to be contacted in emergency situations. The contacts of the Call Centre are: + 373 22 788 722 or 0800 90990 (on the fixed phone).

Also, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry is not able to provide assistance and consular services of any kind in the concerned state. Thus, each person must be aware of the risks of travels to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, assuming his/her own responsibility, as the possibilities of intervention by diplomatic missions and consular offices are reduced in such regions.
