Chisinau, 07 July /MOLDPRES/ – The majority of members of the parliament present at the legislative meeting voted for the adoption of the bill on mass tickets at first reading today.
The project is submitted by several MPs and aims to motivate employees, increase their income and adopt healthier eating habits.
The document provides for granting by employers of the individual food allowance for employees in the form of meal vouchers. Their value will be an extra net income for employees, of which no social security contributions, compulsory health insurance premiums and income tax on salary will be calculated.
The project mentions that the employer is to distribute the meal vouchers to employees at the end of each month, starting with the number of working days of the following month. At the same time, the employee will use a number of tickets equal to the number of days actually worked. According to the project authors, the face value of a meal voucher will amount to 45 lei, these being released both on paper and electronically. They can be used exclusively by the employee and the exchange of meal tickets for money or salary reduction is forbidden.
This system has been operating since 1954 in many European countries, including Italy, France, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania etc.
