Chisinau, 07 July /MOLDPRES/ – Decision makers of Bacioi mayor’s office, Chisinau municipality, are prosecuted by anticorruption prosecutors and the National Anticorruption Center (CNA) for unfair tendering and signing contracts worth more than 17 million lei with two economic agents.

The CNA’s information and media communication service has reported today that civil servants are suspected of exceeding their service duties in organizing tenders for the reconstruction of the locality kindergarten.

According to anticorruption prosecutors, in one case, the working group for designating companies to repair the roof of Bacioi kindergarten would favour a company that did not meet the requirements of the specification. Even if the businessman did not have business in the last 3 years and exceeded two million lei and did not have the necessary experience, the Mayor’s office appointed him a winner, ending with a contract worth more than 5.3 million lei.

In another case, the working group has nominated a winning economic operator with no experience in the field, signing with him a contract of over 11.9 million lei. According to the agreement, the company was to carry out internal repairs to the kindergarten.

Anticorruption prosecutors carried out several criminal investigations today, including searches at the offices and homes of the individuals concerned.

In this case, a criminal case was opened for overcoming the service duties. If they are found guilty, the suspects risk up to 10 years in prison with the deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or to practice certain activities for a period of 10 – 15 years.
