Chisinau, 07 July /MOLDPRES/ – The delegations of the Joint Control Commission (CUC), the representatives of Ukraine and the OSCE Mission to Moldova met in Bender city on 06 July 2017, the Moldovan Delegation to the CUC has reported.

At the meeting, the Commission would approve the new military observers from Ukraine, according to the request of the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Moldova, Farit Muhametshin, broadcast in the plenum of the meeting on 29 June 2017 and according to the provisions of point 2.1. of CUC Minutes №825 from 11 June 2015, stipulating that until the appointment of a new co-chairman from the Russian Federation to CUC, the organizational issues and reports of the Joint Military Command were addressed in the extraordinary CUC meetings.

Regretfully, however, the co-chair of the Transnistrian component of CUC, Oleg Beleakov, supported by the Russian delegation member Piotr Urjumov, assumed the responsibility to chair the commission meeting, thus erroneously misinterpreting and failing to address the Russian Ambassador. In this context, the presentation and rotation of the troops within Group №53 of Ukrainian observers was not possible to carry out.

In this respect, it was made the decision at the Co-Chairs meeting with Ukraine’s representatives and the OSCE Mission to Moldova that the new Ukrainian military observers should operate in the Security Zone (ZS) in accordance with the existing protocols and the situation to be addressed at the next CUC meeting on 13 July 2017.
