Moldova to present investitional possibilties to business environment of Sweden

Chisinau, 08 July /MOLDPRES/ – The Republic of Moldova will present its investment and business opportunities to the Swedish business community in Stockholm as part of a business event in September 2017. The invitation was made by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Chisinau, Signe Burgstaller, at the meeting with Vitalie Zaharia, head of Moldova’s Investment and Export Promotion Organization (MIEPO) on 07 July.

The MIEPO’s press service has reported, that the event is held in Stockholm on a quarterly basis and presents the business opportunities of a particular country for the purpose of linking with the Swedish business environment in order to establish partnerships, initiate investment projects, etc.

During the meeting, the two officials referred to the bilateral co-operation and technical assistance provided by Sweden in carrying out several important projects for Moldova. Vitalie Zaharia appreciated Sweden's support for implementing reforms to improve the investment climate and business conditions, as well as to enhance the competitiveness of indigenous companies on the European Union market. The MIEPO Director also requested support from the Embassy to access Swedish companies in Romania to promote business opportunities with Moldovan enterprises.

At her turn, Ambassador Signe Burgstaller said that the Swedish authorities were also open to cooperation with Moldova and would go on funding support projects.

Currently, 23 enterprises with Swedish capital are active in Moldova. The Kingdom of Sweden is one of the most important development partners of the Republic of Moldova. Through the Swedish Agency for International Development and Cooperation, the Stockholm Government supports Moldova in economic integration with the EU, strengthening democracy, human rights, the environment and climate change.
